AWIS Online Community Guidelines

Welcome to the AWIS online community. The community is an opportunity to gather advice from your peers, share your experiences, and participate in relevant topics of discussion. We want our members to have the best experience possible, therefore we have established some basic guidelines for your participation. By joining and participating in this community, you are agreeing to these outlined rules and guidelines.

AWIS reserves the right to review materials posted to the Community and remove any content at its sole discretion. AWIS reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all the CommUnity platforms at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.

CommUnity users acknowledge/agree to:

  • Utilize the community for its main purpose of members connecting in a safe space online.
  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line to allow the search function to work to the best of its abilities.
  • Post questions or comments to the appropriate discussion thread of group. This eliminates confusion and allows for the information to be easily searched by other members.
  • If you’d like to start a discussion thread but are unsure if it aligns with the community standards, please email [email protected] for assistance. Additionally, if you believe other categories are needed in the discussion group, don’t hesitate to contact us.
  • If you are posting an item in the community, please indicate if that item is available for reuse. Please respect intellectual property and only post content that you have permission to use and or have properly attributed to the content creator.
  • Respect others. Please give grace and the benefit of the doubt to other members when they are posting a question. Focus on the content of the question and not the person asking the question. Do not post anything abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, defamatory, or illegal.
  • While this community is private to members, there is no guarantee of complete privacy and your posts maybe attributed or referenced outside of the community.
  • Do not conduct or forward solicitations, surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, or chain letters.
  • Do not harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses, without consent.
  • Do not upload files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another’s computer.
  • Do not upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy of publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.
  • Do not violate any applicable laws or regulations.
  • If at any time you feel as though a post violates our Community Guidelines, please click on the three dots at the top of the post and click ‘Report as Inappropriate’.
